I came across a post on DNForum today by well established member ‘owntag’ mentioning that he recently sold CreditCard.net in a private transaction that cleared via Escrow.com.  In the thread ‘owntag’ whose name is Yinan Wang mentions that he bought the domain name some time ago for $35,000 from a Japanese banker.

Wang identified the the buyer as Credit World Pty Ltd, an Australian company that also operates CreditCard.com.au. The new whois data (below) seems to support this and also shows the most recent update on the domain was last week 9/15.

Domain Name: CREDITCARD.NET
Registrar: MONIKER
Registrant:  Roland Bleyer
Pixel Captial Pty Ltd
12a Vincent St
Balmain, NSW
2041
AU

According to DNJournal’s YTD sales chart, this sale is the second highest reported .net sale of the year in between Cars.net which was sold for $170,000 back in June by UpMarketURLs and Gold.net that sold for $81,500 at Sedo.  Following these three, only 12 other  .net domain names have been reported sold above $20k this year including:

Spain.net
Camera.net
Blogs.net
Teeth.net
Rome.net
England.net
Guitars.net
Mini.net
Met.net
Darlehen.net
Portugal.net
SanFrancisco.net

This list only includes reported sales, however, comparing that data to 2010 YTD final sales chart which saw 24 .net names reported sold above $20k and the 2009 YTD final sales chart where 29 .net names were reported sold for more that $20k it looks like .net has some catching up to do in 2011.

  • @ChillKing – Thanks for the comment. Yes, Yinan is a top notch domainer. I’ve seen him report many impressive flips over the last few years. On top of that he adds a lot of value to DNF by sharing some strategy/advice and being an all around nice guy. Well deserved sale, congrats Yinan!
