Casino.com, Gambling.com or Poker.com?

There’s a lot of buzz around the domain Gambling.com as it has recently been announced that Sedo.com will handle the sale of this Media Corp asset and the reserve is $9 million. Just today, I read an article about Casino.com which is an actual gaming site that has just been re-designed and launched on a client that serves many different languages.   The Poker.com website that is owned by Casper Enterprises Group is simply an informational poker site and affiliate portal.

So, which domain of these domains is the most valuable?

As it stands, I would value Casino.com above Poker.com and Gambling.com because it has a thriving and extremely lucrative business behind it… an active and growing online casino. Interestingly enough when looking at traffic stats, Poker.com receives the most traffic consistently (even though Casino.com had a huge spike around midway 2010) while Gambling.com is well behind averaging just a fraction of the traffic that Poker.com receives. All three sites have a Google Page Rank of 5.

Even though the word ‘Gambling’ encompasses poker, casinos and really defines the industry as a whole, I think that the name is almost too broad, which may be a reason why Gambling.com is for sale.

I’m interested to hear your opinion.. If you could choose one of these domains (domain only, not including websites), which would you prefer to own?

  • Nice. Now watch all the domain names like mobilegambling, handheldgambling, casinogambling etc go through the roof. It always happens.

I guess that is a good thing.

  • Thanks for the responses guys. As for me, Poker.com would be the name I would want to own if I had a choice. I don’t necessarily think it’s more valuable than casino.com but as a matter of preference, playing poker is one of my favorite hobbies.

What’s really interesting is that neither poker or gambling.com have any social media integrated into the site at all. If gambling.com had a facebook fan page with some thousand ‘likes’ it would most likely fetch a far higher price. Poker.com doesn’t have a facebook fan page? Shame on you CEG!
