It’s been seven months since Bido.com relaunched minus Sahar. So far, it looks like it’s chugging along and moving in the right direction. While Bido has a reputation in the domain realm for selling lower end or names at reseller pricing, they actually have a few really nice geo’s at auction ending this week. NewYork.net, Philadelphia.org and Bosnia.com are all currently open for bidding at Bido. The folks at Bido did close a very nice sale earlier this month as SocialLife.com sold for $42,500. However, the next highest sale in June was Discount.us which sold for $1,980.
Using the Sales Archive page I crunched some numbers to see how Bido has performed in June, 2011. As of this morning Bido has sold 225 domains in June for a total of $59,144 with the average sale approx $263. If you take out the whopper (sociallife.com $42,500) the total sales are $16,644 and the average domain sale this month dips all the way down to approx $74. This is not a calculation but if I had to guess I would say at least 70% of domains sold at Bido this month were ccTLD’s.
While I have an active Bido.com account, I almost never use it to list domains for sale. I’ve always found the process to be time consuming and a bit frustrating. Seeing the volume of ccTLD’s that do sell there, I may consider giving it another shot with some ccTLD’s I am ready to liquidate. For those of you that like short .coms there are a couple hundred LLLL.com domains ending today – this will definitely raise the monthly totals and hopefully the average sale price as well.
