With this week I have started to add commentary in the Daily Summaries section if there was a particularly large sale that day or the release of data such as major auction results.
Weekly Wisdom
Here is what attracted my attention in analyzing sales from the week covered by this report.
- The right domain names to the right end-user command 6 figure sales prices, and not exclusively in .com.
- Artificial intelligence is having a great 2019, both as a niche and .ai extension domain names. I had commented on this in my NamePros blog post on sales in the first half of 2019. It seems that single words without a clear application in AI are still selling briskly (for example names like raptor, lake, etc.).
- Despite a few interesting sales during the week such as jet (travel), compared to the previous two years, new extension sales are waning somewhat so far in 2019.
- Mixed mode .com domain names are regularly selling for decent amounts, such as AG75, AG45 45O, PJ76 and others.
- Among niches that are sometimes overlooked that had activity during this week are beauty/beautiful [BeautifulWords (com), IAmBeautiful (com), beautify (io) etc.] and water themes [waterland (com), WorldUnderWater (org), lake (ai), ocean (ai) and others].
Weekly Statistics
During the week the number of sales per day ranged from 237 to 551, the latter heavily impacted by the monthly release of .ai sales.
The highest average daily price was $1417, but that was highly impacted by the BettingOdds sale. The lowest average daily sale price was $388.
The median daily sale price, a better measure of prices an individual investor is likely to encounter, varied from from $201 to $264. While the range is a bit wider than most weeks, the values themselves are similar.
The number of daily sales above $1000 ranged from 23 to 63. The latter figure was a result of the .ai monthly results. Four of the seven days saw fewer than 30 sales above $1000.
The daily sales volume ranged from a low of about $123k to a high of about $781k. Note that the volume reported here only includes sales above $100 in value, and that the day with $781k coincided with the .ai sales release.

My Personal Favourites
Each week I identify some names that stood out for me because they were creative, in important niches, or otherwise interesting. I also try to fairly represent the types of domains selling at significant prices during the week. While these are not exclusively the top sales from the week, most (not all) are selected from sales of $1000 or more.
My personal favourite names from this week include 724 (co-uk), (org), alerts (ai), BeautifulWords (com), beautify (io), BetterSchools (org), BettingOdds (com), BionicRepair (com), brainstormers (org), calendar (net), careers (ai), casino-bonus (de), chance (ai), CubeHost (com), GoldenFields (com), golf (ai), hexagon (ai), HoboOnline (com), IAmBeautiful (com), incorporated (org), jackpot (ai), jet (travel), lake (ai), ocean (ai), payable (ai), PureSolar (com), ReDot (com), raptor (ai), room (us), SocialPeople (com), subscribe (net), viajes (es), virtual (io), WorldCrypto (com) and WorldUnderWater (org).
Notes:
Keep in mind that only certain venues report sales to NameBio. These venues represent a mix of wholesale (domain investor to domain investor) and retail (domain investor to end user) sales. The median sales price should be interpreted within that understanding. In my introductory guide to using NameBio I provide additional details on what sales are included in the database.
I urge you to read the full Daily Market Reports at NameBio. I would like to thank Michael and others at NameBio that make this valuable database freely available to the domain community.
We have based the statistics reported here on only sales of value $100 and more, although the NameBio subscription plans allow you to study sales below the $100 price point.
Should you want to get my reflections on the NameBio reported sales on a daily basis follow me on Twitter @AGreatDomain.

Have a great week in domaining. Don’t hesitate to leave comments or on how we could restructure the reports to make them more helpful to you.
Thanks Bob, you do spectacular research. I believe you are the biggest asset to domaining today. You must like writing a lot more than I do. I recently registered omnom.es, do you think I should keep it?
Hi Jay,
Thanks for your very kind comment.
Regarding the domain name I am afraid that I have never really looked into .es, although I see sales on NameBio for them not infrequently. Is the word Spanish? Anyway, sorry but have no meaningful feedback to provide.
Bob
