2 Great Domain Availability Search Tools

While searching for available domain names can be fun and exciting for some, it can also be frustrating and time consuming. I found two great tools over the weekend that I think makes the time spent searching for available domain names more productive.

First up is NameChk.com.  I found NameChk.com because I wanted a tool that would check domain name and twitter handle availability simultaneously so that I didn’t have to manually search for both on two different websites.  Well, NameChk takes care of that and also searches the availability of your keyword string in dozens of other social networking sites including Facebook, Blogger, LinkedIn, Yfrog, Vimeo, Squidoo and many more.  While I’m sure it’s not a brand new tool, it comes in very handy for me because these days I really want to have a twitter handle for most of my new domain registrations.

Next is a domain name availability suggestion tool called the Domain Storm App for the iPhone/iPad.  This is a free app that was recently released by Network Solutions.  Instead of trying to explain what this app does, I did a video demonstration of how to use this cool tool.

Disclosure: This is not a paid review. As always, do your due diligence before using these tools. Many domainers are very careful with their available domain search data and I have no idea what the providers of these tools do with your search data.
