Discussion

This was, perhaps surprisingly, a rather active week in domain name sales, with more than 210 sales on each day. That being said it was also a week without truly high value sales.

As is usual .com dominated the sales week, although there were good sales in .org, .net and several country code extensions as well. Many of the significant sales were in two word .com domain names, although brandable names also saw strength. A number of the leading sales were in two character NL formats (a .net, a .de and an .io). Several of the significant sales this week involved pet themes.

Keep in mind that only certain venues report sales to NameBio, and that some sales are put in the database too late to make the daily reports. The reporting venues represent a mix of wholesale (domain investor to domain investor) and retail (domain investor to end user) sales. The median sales price should be interpreted according to that information.

I urge you to read the full Daily Market Reports at NameBio. As well as listing all of the sales for each day, it includes information on all domains that also had a previous sale. It is valuable information for domain investors to see which have gone up and which down.

I would like to thank Michael and others at NameBio that make this valuable database freely available to the domain community.

Should you want to get my reflections on the NameBio reported sales on a daily basis follow me on Twitter @AGreatDomain.  In case you missed the preceding weekly report it is here. I will do another weekly summary here in about a week’s time.
