Dutch Boyd Announces PokerClinic.com Beta Launch

Professional poker player and part time domainer, Dutch Boyd just announced via social networks the beta launch of PokerClinic.com.  During his career as a pro poker player, Boyd has earned two coveted World Series of Poker Bracelets and racked up more that $2 million in tournament winnings.

Poker Clinic will offer poker players who aspire to take their game to the next level many different ways to learn advanced poker technique including free and premium level poker classes, training videos and one on one Skype classes.  To kick off the beta launch, this week Boyd is offering a 1/2 hour poker lesson via Skype for $20 available only to the first twenty people that sign up!

Besides PokerLessons.com which sits undeveloped and is held by long time domain investor Ira Zoot, I can’t think of a better domain name to launch this type of site on.  I am looking forward to watching the site progress, I know that Dutch has many great ideas and what is on the site right now is just the tip of the iceberg for PokerClinic.com.

Dutch Boyd has a portfolio of many premium poker domain names including PokerTells.com, HeadsUpPoker.com and PocketJacks.com.  I’ve reached out to Dutch and I’ll update the post with any additional info he shares about PokerClinic.com.

  • Just got a message from Dutch yesterday via Facebook, saying he’s a regular reader of NameTalent 😉

Also left me a quote to add here about why he chose the name PokerClinic.com:

“A lot of people underestimate the value that the right domain has for search rankings. It’s a lot better to start a new website looking at the keywords you’re targetting first and coming up with a name second, rather than the way most people do it. Sure… Amazon, eBay, etc. pulled it off, but for every weird brandable that succeeds, there are a thousand that don’t. I honestly think Amazon and eBay would be even bigger if they started off with Books.com and Auctions.com.”
