In the midst of all the Tim Tebow hype, today I noticed today that the Denver Broncos are using a .co domain as a URL shortener to guide people to specific pages on their website. I just followed a link from Facebook that was shortened using their own URL shortener to a page on DenverBroncos.com talking about how Tim Tebow will be the starter in the Broncos next game in Miami: http://dbron.co/e3.
Cool to see a NFL team use a .CO domain as a url shortener but come on couldn’t the Broncos have ponied up to get bron.co instead of settling for the hand reg dbron.co. It’s a URL shortener for crying out loud, it should be SHORT. Oh well, I still love my Broncos and I am excited to see Tebow play, hopefully for the remainder of the year.
This is a small win for .CO compared to the news from earlier this week about Twitter using t.co for every link sent through Twitter.
Another URL shortening domain :sigh:
The concept of URL shortener is very helpful, the URLs will be shortened so that one can post them on the social networking portals like Twitter and Facebook or video based websites like YouTube in a hassle free way.
Thanks for sharing all the info about the service.
