After the Libyan government shut down the “sex positive” .ly site earlier this week, U.S. Republican and probable presidential candidate Mitt Romney decided he no longer wants to have ties to Libya and will shut down Mitt.ly his personalized link shortener. The domain, which now re-directs to FreeStrongAmerica.com is one of many .ly domains that has been branded and developed after the catchy Bit.ly url shortener gained huge popularity.
There’s word Romney wants to replace his Mitt.ly personalized link shortener with Mi.tt, another ccTLD (Trinidad and Tobago). Mitt is in search of a more ‘friendly’ domain space.
